Japan Tsunami Kills One in California - The Daily Beast

Last night I was restless and dreamt of a close friend whom I had gone to visit at a campground in Texas. I was standing on a bluff looking at the campground which was located on a small stream when water began to pour through the rock bluff on the opposite side. At first it was just a small stream of water, but soon the bluff gave way as if a damn had broken and water filled the canyon, its wave eventually swallowing me and those around me. An image before I woke remained with me--in color--of people along with myself swirling underwater in the tumult.

The phone rang late morning and woke me. My partner is California. He wanted to know what my text meant-someone, not me, had sent him a text about evacuating to San Bernadino. Neither of us had yet heard about Japan. The text bothered me, especially after my dreams, so after hanging up with him, I turned on the local news only to see the same images of water swallowing a community. The division between my dream and what I was watching was so thin, at first I did not trust the images. I called my partner back who is staying with a friend without TV or radio (how enlightened, really) but recalled feeling his bed shake last night.
