Sunday Dinner with the Hitchcock's
It’s Sunday and the Hitchcock’s were noted gourmands. Alfred Hitchcock always insisted that Alma was the best cook in Los Angeles and over the years some of Hitchcock’s actors also became close friends. An indication of how close a friend you were was where you ate. There was a formal dining room for large dinner parties, but the best table was the more intimate kitchen table, where Alfred and Alma would entertain Cary Grant, or the Prince and Princess of Monaco (Ranier and Grace Kelly). Dining “en famille” was how the Hitchcock’s preferred to entertain—and no doubt, this is what you would see—with or without the “Master’s” head.
