And Memorial Day weekend, thirty-one years ago . . .
This from Tom Snyder, a month after Sir Alfred Hitchcock left the Sea of Alone and joined the Great Auteurs in that studio that truly does contain all the stars in the universe. Snyder opens the program, which is a re-broadcast interview from the mid-70s, by recalling his first Hitchcock film, a little criss cross number staring another recent member of the truly Universal studio--Farley Granger. Think of the fun chatter at that universal studio's Memorial Day BBQ this year--with Hitchcock at the head, Cary Grant on his right, Alma, always on his left--and the table, each year a little longer, an extra couple of chairs always being added. This year Farley and Arthur Laurents will add to the wit already rich at a table with Grace and Ingrid--and so many others.
