H9: Easy Virtue (1928)

Easy Virtue is an enjoyable film, if something of a bit of dark around the edges fluff from the Master of Suspense. It is worthy of your time, but enter the den of easy virtue with different expectations.
For fans familiar with Hitchcock's early sound work, Easy Virtue and Champagne lay more in line with Rich and Strange.
But Hitchcock cannot help himself and the careful viewer will chuckle at Hitch's dark humor and note the imagery that echoes his hit The Lodger.

Easy Virtue is another in the series shining the spotlight on the 9 Hitchcock silents that are under restoration by the British Film Institute. They cry out, like Grace Kelly in Dial M for Murder, for your help. Quick, do so. Push the lever and the let that coin drop before the poor girl strangles!
