Psycho for Psycho
Psycho is a strong Hitchcock film, the first forty five minutes or so are a bit of cinematic perfection (it slides fast in the other direction after the shower sequence). What was killer, so to speak, about the film and profoundly influential, was the film's advertising campaign. In praise of the randomness of the web, this was the "random" image when I went to the Hitchcockwiki site this afternoon: A vintage campaign poster for Psycho. Campaign posters are aimed at theater owners and this one is aimed at the Drive-In Theater owners. That is most definitely a world gone with the wind . . .
