Catch that?  Warner Bros. "lets"? This is why you'll find fewer independent books in film history.  The victors will quite literally be the only ones to write history.  This is why my book co-authored with Stephen Rebello (Making of Psycho) was never published--Warner Bros. which now holds the rights to North by Northwest wouldn't cooperate with St. Martin's Press.  St. Martin's reacted far too timidly, as every copyright law defends the right to use of film images as fair use in legitimate works like a making of book or a book of criticism.  This is still the case--but Warner refused to honor this commitment to independent scholarship.
On one level, I can hear Hitch saying, "It' only a movie."  But I think all of us know that it is much more than that,  and that we are discovering that the legacy of Hitchcock's work grows with time.
