Veteran Kim Novak, 80, is the toast of Cannes HITCHCOCK blonde Kim Novak defied the years yesterday as guest of honour at the Cannes film festival.

 Kim Novak in Cannes yesterday where her film career was honoured The 80-year-old veteran actress was looking incredibly youthful as she attended a photocall for a film tribute to her work. 

The actress was also welcomed to a screening of a restored version of one her most famous films, Vertigo. Novak co-starred with James Stewart in the Alfred Hitchcock 1958 classic which was recently voted the greatest film in history. Her other films include Pal Joey and Bell, Book And Candle.

Steven Spielberg is heading the jury for the French film festival’s prestigious Palme D’Or competition. Contenders include Roman Polanski’s Venus In Fur and the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. All are past winners of the top prize. 

 Actress Audrey Tautou, star of the film Amelie, will host tonight’s closing ceremony.
